The Academy of Dreams is a wellness program for teen girls, age 12-18, that encourages girls to create, visualize, and articulate their dreams for the future, and to develop a plan to make their dreams come true.

This innovative program is designed for African American girls living in the Phoenix metro area, and approaches the issues of teenage pregnancy and prevention from culturally rooted standpoints (ie. African American language, symbols, and rituals) with a focus on how unintended pregnancies could impact their future dreams and aspirations. It also provides a forum where teens can explore and discuss issues dealing with self-esteem, mental and physical health, nutrition, and cultural awareness.

There is a school component, where the program is delivered to teens at the school site, and a community component, where teens can attend the program at the Phoenix Birthing Project, or a nearby local site.
